This is indeed a great milestone in our vision to increase access to better healthcare services in sub-Saharan Africa for low-income patients. MCF is grateful to all our partners and stakeholders who have contributed to the realization of this milestone since the establishment of MCF in 2009.
Kinondoni Hospital, a regional referral hospital located in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania is the 2000th MCF client. Prior to MCF, the hospital could not purchase new medical equipment and machines due to financial constraints. With the MCF loan, Kinondoni Hospital has already acquired an ultrasound and a X-ray and is currently purchasing a CT-scan.
MCF has been helping SMEs in Africa to access affordable finance and technical support to grow and improve the quality of healthcare they deliver. While healthcare is in great demand, health SMEs often experience a lot of trouble finding capital as they are often not eligible to receive loans from banks and that application processes are tedious.
MCF will continue to focus on providing loans and technical assistance to SMEs in sub-Saharan Africa. Through this support, we hope to reach more underserved healthcare providers so they can access finance to grow their businesses, purchase medical equipment, improve quality, and prevent medicine stock outs.
